2010 Conference Recap
The conference was attended by commercial, tribal and racetrack-casino properties from over 17 different states as well as Canada; over 70 different companies were represented at the conference.
The winners of Casino Journal's Best New Table Games Competition for 2010:
Gold — Triple Attack Blackjack by Galaxy Gaming
Silver — Hi-Low Pai Gow Poker by Unlimited Concepts, Inc.
What was the conference about?
Raving and the industry’s most talented experts and educators on table game operations and marketing gathered for our third annual conference. We expanded the tradeshow floor – also known as our “New Table Game Laboratory” and attendees had even more time to get hands-on with innovative and new table game products. Yes, it was classroom learning plus a “l
ab” – with the entire program built to assist gaming executives to get the best return on investment from their table games department.
Why was this conference created?
Battling declining revenues – casinos have been targeting their table game departments for financial relief. Some have drastically cut their pit area due to the erosion in profitability while others have allocated additional resources banking on renewed interest. What direction is exactly the right direction? With conflicting strategies from one extreme to the next, Raving Consulting Company took the lead in addressing this issue in 2008 by creating Raving's Cutting Edge Table Games Conference. This is the only table game conference solely dedictated of its kind.
The “Lab”
One aspect of this innovative conference was the opportunity for table game professionals and attendees to experience, analyze and vote for their favorite new games from the pioneering group of exhibitors in attendance, through Casino Journal's Best New Table Games Competition. This was created specifically to recognize and honor new table games, which often can be overlooked in the sea of new casino technologies and slot machines that permeate the gaming industry each year.

Casino Journal's Best New Table Games of 2010 Competition
Casino Journal’s Best New Table Games of 2010 Competition was held in conjunction with Raving’s Cutting Edge Table Games Conference in Las Vegas. It was designed to recognize those new table games and their inventors, companies and promoters, whose new games, as judged by casino table game operators and marketing executives, have the best combination of player appeal, ease of understanding, and potential commercial success.
Eligibility: Casino Journal’s Best New Table Games of 2010 Competition was open to individuals or companies that have developed (or own the rights to) casino table games which have been created in the last three years and currently have less than 50 total units in casinos worldwide. They were fairly considered to be a table game for a table game environment, and not an electronic version of a table game. Poker games and poker game variations were acceptable. Past Gold award winners were not eligible for future year’s competitions with the same game.
Casino Journal’s Best New Table Games of 2010 Competition was open to exhibitors of Raving’s Cutting Edge Table Games Conference held at Mandalay Bay Resort Casino August 18-20, 2010. Each exhibitor was allowed to enter a maximum of two (2) new table games in the competition and was entirely responsible for the presentation of its game(s) to the attendees/judges of the conference, including table set up, game staffing, sample playing opportunity, collateral, mathematical information on the game, etc.
Special note: The Gold winner, providing that the game meets necessary regulatory and compact approvals, was offered floor space at Barona Resort & Casino and a standard contract with Shuffle Master, Inc..
